Greetings from the Representative

Wajimanuri-Yukiwarisoukai is a new company created after the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024. We had never thought of creating a company in a situation where we had no water, no electricity, no means of communications, and even food was limited, making it difficult to even survive.

The workshops were completely destroyed and the Wajimanuri(lacquerware) craftsmen had to evacuate from place to place in order to survive, and there was no way to contact each other.

In September, the Wajimanuri craftsmen were completely shattered by the torrential rains and flooding that followed, and they fell into despair. These two disasters caused many craftsmen to quit their jobs.
Reconstruction was not progressing well, and nothing remained but rubble, as if Okunoto had been abandoned, with no hope for life or future. At that time, I was moved to see many people on the news saying let’s support the recovery of Noto and the revival of Wajimanuri. I vowed to revive Wajimanuri by changing it into something more familiar to people.

Wajimanuri is based on the division of labor. Even a single small product cannot be made by one person. Therefore, no matter how hard each craftsman works, his name will never be recognized.
Each craftsman is only one person involved in the final product.
While craftsmen are leaving Wajima and quitting, the Wajimanuri-Yukiwarisoukai has its origin as a “group of fellow craftsmen” who can create finished products with the remaining craftsmen in Wajima.
The name “Wajimanuri-Yukiwarisoukai” comes from “Yukiwarisou”, the city flower of Wajima City. The word “Yukiwarisou” means “perseverance” and “taciturn and persistent” in the language of flowers, and we named our group “Yukiwarisou-Kai” because we want to keep our strong spirit.
The “passion”, “soul”, and “strong spirit of never giving up” of the Wajimanuri craftsmen, whose names are never revealed, will be put into the products as the logo mark of the Yukiwarisoukai to make the best products.

Finally, the logo mark of Wajimanuri-Yukiwarisoukai was made by volunteers.
We would also like to thank the volunteers for their great help in establishing the company by visiting the Ishikawa Prefectural Government and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Wajima City to gather information.
